On Church and State

hd-densus

The demarcation of church and state (i.e. the spheres of secularization and religion) is a grasping concept that invokes much debate: academically, personally, and intellectually. However, there are several pressing questions that have yet to be explored in-depth such as: Why the boundary of Church and State? Is there a clear-cut distinction among both? Why are they known to be opposing forces? To contextualize this debate, it is necessary to conceptualize this nexus.

Defining Religion:

Religion is a term that is derived from religio a term derived from Latin’s relegae. The premise is thus that one is bound to a higher being through objects of faith (i.e. prayer and piety) and concern themselves with the metaphysical (other than this lifetime). Religion is not a subjective attitude towards this higher being, but refers to specific doctrines and rituals shared and preformed by human collectivities (e.g. Hindus, Christian, Muslims) and such rituals can be “objectively” observed. For example, I can measure a group’s religiosity by examining their piousness in performing prayer etc…

Dirty Politics

bush_ahmadinejad

Numerous countries with major nuclear programs exist in the world today, including the United States of America, Russia, United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, and Israel. As mentioned in the http://www.bis.doc.gov/News/Archive99/NSGint, there are “442 nuclear reactors throughout the world each producing materials with the potential to be used in nuclear weapons,” not forgetting to mention the numerous other countries who have uranium enrichment programs. The question I would like to ask is: Why is Uncle Sam targeting Iran? Is it for the same reasons of the war on Iraq? Is it to impose their power on the world? Or is it simply because of the abundant resources that they are going to take control of? i.e. Oil.
According to
www.thebulletin.org/minutes-to-midnight/nuclear, the United States holds by far the largest nuclear arsenals in the world, with 10,000 weapons. This is what I call hypocrisy. How shameful is it that the United States of America, the country with thousands of nuclear weapons, is threatening to use strategic nuclear weapons against Iran, which is believed to have none. Why on earth does the “Greatest country in the world” hassle Iran and no other country but Iran? Is it because it is the ‘Islamic’ Republic of Iran? What about Israel, France, and the UK? Or does “Wasta” play a role in it?
What really makes me worry is that the US made their plans to complete an enormous air strike before the war on Iraq, which is mentioned in
www.vicepeace.org/iran. Back to hypocrisy, how on earth does the US plan to use weapons such as “bunk busters” which are considered nuclear weapons, to destroy other nuclear weapons (Iranian nuclear factories)?
In conclusion, a war on Iran isn’t the ideal solution; this will only cause more problems in the region. Keeping in mind the war on Iraq and how the Iraqi’s are still suffering. This doesn’t mean I am with Saddam Hussein’s regime, I just don’t agree with the U.S foreign policy. Not only do I believe, I insist that the solution to this problem is to stop the manufacturing of all nuclear weapons in every country without excluding any countries starting from Washington, London, Moscow, and all the way to Haifa and Tel Aviv.

'Mydo Bruru'

hj

What an invention! The Japs continue to produce great products that really satisfy their people. I think they had many reports from their people that they needed something other than coffee to make sure that they don't fall asleep during their work, school, or when they're driving. The result was an eye glass called “ Mydo Bruru”. These glasses have a tiny battery-operated motor attached to the ear hook, which vibrates below a certain angle making sure you don't lose your consciousness. It is reported to be a big hit in Japan right now.

I wish that they had created those glasses a long time ago, because until today; my last semester in AUB, I still fall asleep in every class room.

Citizens of Kuwait, let us follow the path of our forefathers and make this path a road to our future. The Buzberry group would like to wish you a happy Liberation and Independence Day.

'Money Is Where The Hair Is'

hairnew6donaldtrump

While everyone is hectic about how Britney Spears shaved her head, or about rumors linking her back to rehab, I found out that her hair is on for sale! Its true, Britney’s hair is on auction and the starting bid is $1,000,000!!! The highest bidder will not only get hold of Britney’s hair, but also a blue BIC lighter and a REDBULL can, which she left behind at the hair salon. More info is posted on
BuyBritneysHair.com, and it is believed that the money will be distributed out to charity.

In other ‘hairy’ news, millionaires Donald Trump and Vince McMahon (World Wrestling Federation Owner), both have their hair on the line in a wrestling match, ‘Battle of The Billionaires’. Each man will choose a wrestler to represent him during Wrestlemania 23 at Detroit’s Ford Field, April 1,2007; where the loser will have to shave his head off! Trump started by challenging McMahon to wrestle personally, but after negotiations, Trump’s last offer was to put his hair on the line and backing a professional wrestler from the corner of the ring. If you think it is part of April fool’s, well it’s not… Now you know why I do value my hair SAK. Grazie!

Only in Kuwait!

22

The other day I was going from Shwaikh to Yarmouk passing through the Fourth ring road. As usual it was crowded and unbearable, but I was amazed that it wasn’t the rush hour nor the time where people go out, it was at 5 pm. So I though that it was an accident that was slowing the traffic, but I was stunned to see that the thing that was slowing down the traffic is a shepherd crossing the road with his sheep! It kind of reminded me of the email that was forwarded where you see a picture and a comment beneath it “only in ….”. This is ONLY in Kuwait!

Scent of a Woman

cimg0048

Located at the heart of Hamra Street, Al Hamra Perfumery, Established in 1997 is a quaint little store renowned for it’s unique perfumes. Madam Silva, the owner and worker at the same time, offers a wide variety of nearly 50 selections of Oriental perfumes and 50 Western readily prepared perfumes. She tampers with different kinds of Arabian-Gulf scents and eventually turns them into her most famed mixtures. The secret to this formidable scent is in the Lebanese mixture of perfumes assorted together to form a -one of a kind- blend of perfumes, and that is the reason why it became one of the most famous perfumeries in Beirut. As a matter of fact, the heavyweight customers of Al Hamra Perfumery are precisely Kuwaiti women. Sometimes customers ask Madam Silva for custom-made fragrances (or mixtures of scents), which will be customized only for the individual himself, and therefore won’t be sold at the market. SAK asked to make his own mixtures, which eventually turned out to be breathtaking, unfortunately it won’t be sold to anyone except SAK!

cimg0046

However, Mme. Silva states that her neighboring stores, such as ‘Al Qurashi’ or ‘Al Arabiya Lil Oud’, do not form that kind of a strong competition because they are already present in parts of the Arabian Gulf countries, and the market differs in Beirut. As for any marketing campaign planned, Madam Silva explains that no ads are needed, stating that word of mouth, or buzz, is the most decisive technique needed to advertise. Al Hamra Perfumery is well known for it’s magnificent selection of blends, which makes one of the most legendary scents smelled from a mile away.

For any other additional inquiries, please don't hesitate to call Madam Silva at (+961) 3 913814.

Since last year we all motivated our friend to try getting to know her. However, all the trials of convincing our friend failed, until he agreed today to give it a shot. “Divided For God”

step-out-on-faith-by-WAK

“In my lifetime, I have always believed that God was Truth. Today I have found that Truth is God.”—Mahatma Gandhi

What is faith? How can it be tackled? And can we refer to ourselves as people of faith in this ever-pragmatic world that we inhabit? Does my religion have supremacy over yours? Are we at an ideological clash of no meeting point with “the other?”

Obviously, these questions are not to be tackled in one article, but they are certainly questions that we all face in our daily lives. Whether we choose to ignore them, or tackle them is what divides us into those who reason and those who submit. It divides us between those who attain faith through knowledge, and those who believe because they were told to. And we are thus divided.

In his famous book Faith and Belief: And the Difference Between Them, former Harvard theologian William Cantwell Smith asserts that today’s world rarely has people of faith, but rather we are people of identity. Muslims for example, are more pre-occupied with their Muslim identity as opposed to their Islamic faith. Let’s examine this with closer detail using the following example:

Freedom Of Speech? Try Xuman!

_42577105_xuman300

In Senegal, rappers have a more advanced role; perhaps the unlimited democracy in that region drives them to step in a new outlook. DJ and rapper Xuman, who is currently placing the final touches on his new album, has introduced politics and criticism of the government in his lyrics. Xuman targets the youth of Dakar, motivating them into making the right choice for the nation. He believes that the youth have the so-called most powerful ‘weapon’ today – the voting card. Momodou Kasse, the Senegalese Information ministry adviser, quotes “If there wasn't this freedom of expression, I am convinced that rap would not be developed in this country.”
It is really stunning to see such democracy in a nation where surrounding countries suffer from civil wars and oppressive regimes. Meanwhile in the Arab world, the allegedly civilized and educated democracy (people) strides towards a democracy of violence and hatred- towards the ‘other party’. Since we never learn from our own mistakes, never learn from the westerners, I hope we will one day learn from struggling nations. Grazie!

Living with the Beckhams

Val1_03

Reports claim that David and Victoria Beckham had been contacted by the Fox TV Network to do a reality TV series, but the couple hasn’t commented yet whether those reports are true. Featuring the soccer games and fashion shows, the show would be similar to previous shows starring Jessica Simpson-Nick Lachey and Britney Spears-Kevin Federline, which all ended up with a divorce. However, Victoria and David’s marriage is viewed as the strongest in the celeb-world. In other news, Angelina Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand who died from ovarian cancer lately, told Jolie that her dying wish was ‘to marry Brad Pitt’. Marcheline believes that Brad is an “angel” and he is sent to “take care of Angie.” Grazie!

On behalf the Buzberry team, I would like to apologize to our viewers for not posting any articles lately due to technical reasons. The weather conditions were disastrous today, and the thunderstorm this morning resulted in a technical problem from our Internet provider. Frankly, I wasn’t even sure about going to my final exam, but inspired by the lyrics “Through the rain, walk on, with hope in your heart, and you’ll never walk alone,” I marched to class. As to the Internet connection, the server is up again, it’s still raining, enjoy. Grazie!

…Yet they call me a Muslim

_41078484_muslim.203

For fourteen years, like my colleagues and friends I underwent my Islamic studies course and for the most part exceptionally passed. Year after year the topics might have changed but the mechanism did not: Learn how to recite passages in the Qur’an, memorize the prophet’s teachings-hadeeth and explore religious doctrines as applied to the topic at hand. To many, this may be an appropriate methodology. True. However, the methodology applied is not what is in question, but rather, the curriculum is.

During that time the government of Kuwait concentrated its Islamic Studies curriculum to answer questions such as: Why is God great? Why did God create man? And finally what is expected of a devout Muslim. Many may perceive that this is enough. I was among them, until recently that is. It is important to note the theological questions such as: The divinity of God, the absolutism of the Qur’an, The prospects of jurisprudence-Fiqh and the historical evolution of Islamic thought was never incorporated in the Islamic studies curriculum.

Al Mayass “Our Safe Haven”

Picture 003

Al Mayass “in my opinion” is one of the greatest restaurants found by humanity. Apart from its’ good location, the food is delicious and has the coziest atmosphere ever. For those of you who don’t know what Al Mayass is, it is an Armenian restaurant located in Achrafia, Beirut. It opened 11 years ago (1996) by an Armenian/Lebanese, Mr. Chant Alexanderian. He started off by cooking the food in his small restaurant with the help of his son, but soon he gained the attention of many food lovers and found the need to expand. By training several chefs, the restaurant prospered and became one of the busiest places in Beirut. If you’re lucky, Mr. Chant Alexanderian might cook your meal.

We always loved eating there, whether it’s lunch or dinner it doesn’t make a difference, it’s scrumptious! During the past semester we started going there every other day, which was an awful lot! I wonder how we didn’t get sick of the food? Some of us even planned to offer their chef a great deal of money to come work for us but unfortunately he refused. Due to our frequent visits to Al Mayass, we ended up making our own mixture of sauces and our own fixed menus; that’s how regular we became. (I’ll share them with you in a bit.)

Dead Hamsters Anyone?

DSC00995

Hamsters? Have anyone of you had them as a pet?? They’re like these small annoying little creatures which you want to crush as soon as you see them…they’re really not cute. Anyways, AJK was bored as usual (nothing pleases the guy and I mean nothing!! check out this site, he usually attempts these idiotic ideas out of boredom, you’ll probably enjoy it (
http://beseechfanclub.com/bored/). This time, he decided to buy hamsters from the pet store nearby as a present to all the guys in OZ’s place. He brought these tiny colored hamsters to the apartment as a surprise (nobody liked the surprise; believe me it was just him that felt ecstatic). They were 4, 3 female (3abla, snowy and I forgot the last one’s name, I remember it had something to do with Mac) and 1 male (3antar). 3antar and 3abla were colorful (3antar was a grayish color while 3abla was a brownish beige color) while the other 2 were really dull (both were fully white like lab rats with red beady eyes.) Anyways, at first, they were friendly and I seemed to have a change of heart. We fed them everyday and we even bought them a new cage that has a small house and a running wheel. They seemed settled in their new home and everything was going according to plan. After a while (I mean a day or 2), the hamsters started to become rather irritating (especially the shitty 3antar)… cuz they broke the wheel from the first hour and it started making squeaky noises. My God, the noise was intolerable! Read More...

One Million Baht Dinner

386357648_7df3b8596c

Some of the world’s premium chefs gathered in Bangkok last week to chef an 11-course dinner that costs $29,000! Of course, the chefs come from different countries, offering an international cuisine to the guests (yes W.M, this time it was international, regardless that the event held in Thailand). The 40 guests were offered lobster, caviar and truffles. Antoine Westermann, owner of Restaurant ‘Buerehiesel’ in Strasbourg, France, prepared ‘an appetizer of Kobe beef tartar with Iranian caviar and Thai oysters, while his main course will be a tart with truffles and scallops.’ Plus, a unique variety of rare wine, which totaled $200,000, was served to the guests.
The forty diners came from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States; 25 were invited while the other 15 paid the whole $29,000 each. It is sadly ironic that the event was held at the ‘Mezzaluna’ restaurant (located at one of the most luxurious hotels in Bangkok) where across the street, a meal costs $0.75, in a country where a teacher would barely earn $25,000 a year; meanwhile, some oil tycoon pays a fortune for something that would end up somewhere unpleasant in the next morning. However, it is said that the revenue will be donated for charity. Honestly, I do spend a couple of thousands on food sometimes, but in Lebanese pounds! Grazie!

Missoni Hotel Kuwait…

kw

This is the first hotel of its kind in Kuwait. A fashion hotel or a boutique hotel is a very new addition in the region. Hotel Missoni (it was supposed to be cerrutti hotel) is part of a new joint venture between Missoni fashion house and Radizor SAS Hospitality. The management decision to spread out to East Asia and the Middle East brought us this beautiful hotel in Kuwait. The Hotel will be in Salmiya seafront and it is said to open its doors to the guests in the 4th quarter of 2007. The hotel would be paired by the Symphony Complex an eleven story office building and a two story shopping mall. The Hotel will include rooms that have a fantastic sea view, restaurants, spa, caffe, ball room and an out door swimming pool. All said I think this kind of projects will have a good impact on the tourism in the country. Finally, we can reserve to the foreigners who are visiting us rooms which do not have a graveyard view if you know what I mean.

Prove Your ‘BIG’ Love!

1
Since Valentine’s is just behind the corner, I discovered the ‘tallest’ way to show your love. Although I don’t believe in this myth and I had never given out any valentine’s gift, since I come from a conservative background (to be honest I’m not that conservative myself), however, I think that those 6-foot tall roses will make a hell of a gift! Originating from Ecuador, grown on a farm between two 9,600 ft volcanoes, those roses are able to live a longer life than normal ones, and most importantly acquiring blossoms up to 4 inches in diameter! That’s not all, now OrganicBouquet.com arranges the best package for a valentine’s gift. The 6-foot roses sell for $250 a dozen. Grazie!

A City Inside a City!

BFH_image4

This is the upcoming Bahrain Financial Harbour it will cost Bahrain $1.3 billion. They are creating a small financial city that provides simply everything that national and international financial companies need. Of course with an amazing waterfront view that is emphasized on by the investors and contractors. The harbour will include three main features, first the Dual Towers, which would be 52 storeys each with a panoramic view of Bahrain. The towers will offer office and commercial space to the financial sector. Second, the Financial Mall, which will illustrate a modern way of a shopping mall, it will contain Bahrain Stock Exchange, brokerage and trading firms, and other exclusive retail outlets. Last but not least the Harbour House, this is a blend between work and a modern life style. The Harbour House is linked by a suspended bridge to the Financial Mall, which will give access between the two buildings in a less time consuming manner. Moreover, the Harbour House is situated on the waterfront and it will have restaurants, cafes, waterways, and sea front walkways.

Now, after summarizing this marvelous idea we can conclude that countries in the region are flourishing before our eyes (not only in sports!) in the business sector which we dominated for so long. Given that we are veterans in this sector we should’ve had some expertise in the field of business. Someone would think that we will be more advanced than our brotherly competition in the region, but sadly we are not. We in Kuwait are blessed with money, which is a scarce resource in the world, so why don’t we have the ability to create such a thing? Well, I think that maybe business men thought Marina Mall and Jaber Stadium are enough to launch us to the 21
st century. However, if globalization and open markets are where modern businesses are heading, then we have to catch on from today because we are already a few steps behind. All my respect to Bahrain and I hope you reach all your goals for a modern civilized nation.

It’s All Yours!

22672652_c66404acab_m

Last time I brought up Sharapova, it was about designing her outfit, which she will be wearing on CosmoGirl cover page. Well today, you have the chance to own Maria Sharapova’s dress, the one she performed with! Not only this outfit is the one she wore at Melbourne (Australian Open 07), but also she signed it. I would have placed the highest bid in the auction, but last time I checked, the highest bid was out of reach. Frankly, although I really love Sharapova, I can’t afford this unreasonably (at least only in my dad’s opinion) exclusive item. The auction is placed on Sharapova’s official website, out of curiosity, or if you value such things (I do!) log on to www.mariasharapova.com -deadline next week. Yeah, I won’t mind joining someone to place a sufficient bid! Grazie!

F700 – A New Revolution

samsung

SAMSUNG revealed a new revolutionary edition of its ‘Ultra portfolio’ – Ultra Smart F700, to be unveiled next week at the largest communication event, 3GSM World Congress, Barcelona 2007. The stunning mobile/pocket PC possesses various attention-grabbing features, such as a full touch-screen, QWERTY keyboard, and most astonishingly a 5-mega-pixel camera. For users unfamiliar with such advanced touch screens, a QWERTY keyboard slides for straightforward utility. The new touch-screen generation, “drag and drop” as named by SAMSUNG, was embraced to enhance menu navigation and other menu controls.

Verdict: I strongly believe that it is an enhanced version of the Qtek. Plus, the innovative touch-screen, or in other words, the new generation is patent by Apple Inc. Moreover, presentations by Apple management proved that the mobile world is yet to experience a transition in touch-screens. However, I would never underestimate SMASUNG’s vision (especially after their thrilling slim phones), not only because they sponsor Chelsea FC, but also because the F700 boasts a HSDPA 7.2Mbps data card which makes surfing the net like heaven. By the Given info plus my high expectations of SAMSUNG, I’ll give it a 7.

THE FIRST EMAILLL!!!

venice
Burano

austria
Vienna

Rules & Regulations

For the last three weeks I’ve been checking my buzberry e-mail (ajk@buzberry.com) and simply found NOTHING, no one even bothered emailing; then BAAAAAAMMMMM!! There it is on the 7th of February 2007 I received the first email, a friend requesting me to post his email on our site. Since it was the first e-mail, I thought that no matter what the article was about I would share it with you, but after reading it I actually thought it was pretty interesting, take a look:
While some cities prohibit smoking in public areas and others (Singapore) ban chewing gum, Burano, a small island in Venice (Italy) enforces that every house should be of a different exterior color. And get this YOU DON”T GET TO CHOOSE the color of your OWN house. The mayor of this small village is the person who chooses which pastel color to apply on your home in order to maintain the harmony.
On the other hand, Vienna, the capital of Austria has different rules. And what are they you may wonder? Most of their buildings share this rule. Each floor of the same building should have windows of different shape. While some people believe that similarity is what makes things beautiful, others believe that distinction shows true colors.

An Experience to Forget

Logo-Qatar-Airways

People kept on stating the fact that Qatar Air is the next big thing. "You want to travel, fly with Qatar Air, it is an experience to remember" agencies told us. Well it wasn’t for me! You see, I have just been to Italy for the past two weeks which was THE experience to remember; however, the trips from and to our destinations were a disaster.

Obviously, I had a lot of choices on which airlines to choose from: Kuwait Airlines, Emirates Air, Qatar Air, even the Middle East Airlines were all good choices. Yet, Qatar was my first choice, and oh boy did I regret it. When you watch the advertisements of Qatar Airways on TV, you'd be astonished about their perspective on how to satisfy their passengers' comfort; however, in my experience and in both trips, they've managed to demolish mine.

58番目の札幌雪祭

335513638_4561c7f054_m

For about more than half of a century, the city of Sapporo, Japan, hosts the biggest winter event in Japan for the duration of seven days during February;
The Sapporo Snow Festival. People from all around the world meet up in Sapporo to participate in the festival which targets more than 2 million visitors each year. The participants become ecstatic to demonstrate their creativity throughout various sculptures and statues made from snow!
Some of us used to construct a snowman in childhood, for fun maybe? On the other hand those artists (even if they really weren’t professional artists) are putting a vast effort in building some illustrious monuments, statues, and sculptures that might melt down in a week or so. Inspired by 6 high-school students in 1950, the Sapporo Snow Festival welcomes its 58th edition today, which will end Feb.12. Don’t miss it if your there!

It’s NOT a jeans, it’s a $60,000 jeans!!

jnz

Some times different people appreciate different things, which proves why they are different. One might spend a fortune on a watch, or a car, while a Japanese collector decided to spend $60,000 on a pair of jeans instead a classy roadster! A 115- year old Vintage Levis was sold on eBay for a record-breaking $60,000, whereas it might have cost no more than $1 back in 1873 when denim was used for work pants.

Ducky WON’T POOP on your Carpet!!!

DUCK

I have no idea why they called him Ducky. It’s a VIRTUAL DOG with human development skills! Why not Doggy!? But no matter what they call it, we should salute these brilliant Japanese minds.. Bravo

Ok, this virtual pet has six internal sensors throughout its body, and responds appropriately to being touched, carried, can talk to the user with expressive eye movements. “Ducky” also develops from a not-so-understanding pet, simple barking dog to an intelligent humanoid one that can speak over 650 words in Japanese. When “Ducky” reaches full maturity, he would be able to greet you, ask you about your day, wish you a happy birthday, and sing duets with you at karaoke. This virtual pet will follow your sleep schedule, and you can program it to nap while you go out and wake up when you come home. The GREAT thing about Ducky is that it doesn’t poop or have a pepe on your carpet. Also, if it annoys you, keep it in the closet and it won’t die.

PS. I hope one day Ducky speaks English or Arabic, and I hope one day an Arab mind thinks of creating something interesting rather than eating, taking huge dumps, and sleeping.. GOD BLESS THE JAPS!!!

The Extinction of Liberals in Kuwait

376262930_459e8f8623

According to Amir Taheri, an Iranian journalist in the National Review Magazine, liberalism in Kuwait is extinct. Taheri believes that: “The term "liberal" has assumed two meanings. In the American sense, liberalism means a cocktail of state intervention in the economy, a comprehensive welfare system and a good dose of political correctness — all with a bit of anti-Americanism as the cherry on top. In its European sense, liberalism means limiting the role of the state, an emphasis on individual rights and private enterprise, and support for free trade in a global market economy. In both senses, liberalism also means not only tolerance for but also active encouragement of alternative lifestyles, support for equal rights for all minorities (especially gays and lesbians), and a belief in the relativity of cultural and religious values. Kuwaiti "liberals" do not believe in any of that and did not offer anything resembling a liberal social, political, and economic program. In fact, the reason for their failure is that they were not liberal at all.”
Mr. Taheri did a questionnaire to prove his point and some of the questions addressed were:
1) Would they campaign to abolish polygamy and temporary marriages? Would they support equal rights for women in divorce and children's custody? No.
2) Would they accept gay and lesbian couples as legitimate? Again: No.
3) What about abolishing state subsidies that eat up a third of the oil revenue? No.
“It only takes twenty years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea.” -Robert Anton Wilson
Does liberalism truly exist? Or do you agree with what Mr. Taheri states, “It never existed?”
Let me have your views.

Where Imagination Saves The Day: Beyonce-Beckham-Scarlett

12

After he signed for Los Angeles Galaxy, David Beckham ignited his so-called “Brand Beckham” again with an endorsement for The Walt Disney Co. The Brit joins R&B star Beyonce Knowles and actress Scarlett Johansson in various fairytale spots on behalf the “Year of a Million Dreams” Disney campaign for theme parks.

Shot on Dec. 18 at the Spanish resort of Burguillo Lake, near Madrid, by the famous photographer Annie Leibovit, the former England captain portrays Prince Charming of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ straddling a white horse, slaying a fire-breathing dragon.
On the other hand, Beyonce will represent Alice from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and Scarlett Joahnsson will be costumed as Cinderella, ‘wearing a custom-designed Nicoletta Santoro gown and a 62-carat diamond tiara worth over $300,000.’(Forbes.com)
The Ad will be released in highly reputed magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, GQ, W, The New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveler and Cookie.

Reports suggest that Beckham had also shot his record-breaking ‘Got Milk?’ ad for an undisclosed fee. It seems that the former Red Devils and England Captain’s professional career had shifted focus from football accomplishments to celebrity and Hollywood success and domination. Is Becks still a professional footballer in the eyes of football viewers, or is his football over?

The Story

DSC00978

When the curfew was enforced in Lebanon due to some stupid idiotic students of the shitiest university in Lebanon having a go at each other where even an army was called upon to stop this madness, we all happened to be at the same place at the same time. The situation was a mess; no one could leave the “apartment” which by the way became our sanctuary, our home away from home. We all wanted to leave cuz everyone had something to do, guys just coming back from the gym and smell like shit, others waking up to the sirens and ambulances and don’t know what the hell was going on. We all were watching the news waiting anxiously what was going to happen next. Our phones were off the hook; parents were calling every minute and checking to see what happened to us. Some parents were calling every second as if they wanted something bad to happen to us.
All of us staying here are Mac users and I, of course, am a windows user and still did not shift to a Mac. They’re all bugging me why I didn’t shift and even one of my friends made a poem for me advising me to shift to a Mac which by the way is hilarious (will be posted in the future). My friend showed me how easy it is to use and make a blog. He started writing something stupid like “apple rocks!” or “mac is back” and posted it on a blog and accessed it via the Internet. He told me why not we continue blogging and post our writings. At first I thought what a shitty idea why do you want to do that. It’s basically just writing anything in your head and posting it. It’s time consuming and there isn’t any worthy news to post. Listen to this people; this guy is nearly failing each course he took so this is pointless. This will only make him fail more so stop this idea and concentrate on your education. Anyways, the guy didn’t listen and started to share the idea with the others. Because they were so goddamn bored and had nothing else to do, they lied and said they loved the idea and started to write anything that pops into their heads. And that, my friends, how buzberry was born! One of the guys started to write how he loves Hardees and drools whenever the name was mentioned but the article was vetoed and he was later banned from writing about food! Our chairman, God bless him (have to say this or else the article won’t be posted), is a dictator, always yelling at us and nothing ever pleases him. An article must deal with 3 things or it won’t be accepted: ronaldo, the best player in the world, Mac or his beloved Mcjobs (I know that’s not his name but a friend of mine is a retard and keeps on saying it) and the best singer in the planet, AbdulAziz Al Thuwaihi, who of course has a great voice and no one can say otherwise. Now, the site is flourishing and to be honest with you, I’m starting to like it and this is my first article, which hopefully will be posted.
